Second Place in State!!
Congratulations to the Northland Christian Debate team for an incredible showing at the Texas Forensic Association’s state tournament! Over spring break, 13 debaters traveled to compete at TFA State in Dallas; this state tournament is one of the toughest in the country, featuring nearly 200 public and private schools from across the state. In order to qualify, students must accumulate 12 points over the course of the season.
After ten rounds of competition, our World Schools team placed 2nd in the state! Congratulations to seniors Aiden Buchanan, Makena Elswick, Jackson Leard, Margo Meaney, and Kate VanWormer. Kate also received the 3rd place speaker out of over 200 speakers in the division. This is the third time Northland Christian has reached finals of the World Schools Division since 2020.
In Congressional Debate, Shepard Boyd placed 9th as a junior!
In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Liam McDonald placed in the top 16 and received the 11th place speaker award!
