“The Sound of Spirit”

In our Christian walk, each of us is given gifts that we are meant to use to express the Holy Spirit that resides in our heart and soul. The Northland Christian “Sound of Spirit Drumline” is our effort to give students an opportunity to become members of an ensemble to express that Holy Spirit in sound.

The driving rhythms of their drum cheers and cadences are a dedicated effort to energize the spirit of our students, faculty, staff, and parents in support of our athletic teams and special events that are an important part of our life at Northland Christian School.

Since reinstating our drumline program two years ago, our primary focus of attention was to quickly create a drumline as well as a bucket drumming group that could provide rhythm and spirit for the secondary division athletic events, student activities, and NCS Community special events.

We also began a training program in the elementary division for 4th and 5th grade students that will provide a drumline and bucket drumming group for both the secondary and elementary divisions for many years to come.

All drumline practices are after school from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. The secondary division students practise two days per week, and the elementary students practice one day a week.

All students in grades 4 through 12 are welcome and encouraged to join. No previous drumming experience is required to become a member of the “Sound of Spirit Drumline.”
