Meet Our New Leaders!
Northland Christian School is proud to announce the appointment of Cliff Kraner as the school’s new Athletic Director.
A lifelong Cougar, Cliff’s connection to Northland runs deep. He attended Northland Christian School from kindergarten through 12th grade, making his return to lead the athletic department especially meaningful. His love for the school, its mission, and its community has remained constant throughout his life and career.
Cliff brings more than 30 years of experience in education, coaching, administration, and student leadership. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and later completed his Master of Educational Leadership degree from Sam Houston State University.
Cliff began his career in public education as a science teacher and coach, where he coached middle school football, basketball, and track. He returned to Northland in 2002 and faithfully served the school for more than two decades in multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Principal, Secondary Principal, Director of Student Activities and Alumni Affairs, coach, and mentor to countless students and families. During his time at Northland, he also spent four years coaching both boys and girl’s varsity basketball, reflecting his passion for developing student-athletes and building meaningful relationships through athletics.
Most recently, Cliff served as a Graduate Admissions Counselor at Harding University, where he worked closely with students and families while continuing his commitment to Christian education and leadership.
Known for his relational leadership style, passion for student development, and commitment to excellence, Cliff is excited to return home and help lead Northland Athletics into the future. His vision is centered on building programs that honor Christ, develop strong character, pursue competitive excellence, and create meaningful experiences for student-athletes and families.
Northland is also excited to announce the promotion of longtime Athletic Coordinator Patti Abt to Assistant Athletic Director. Patti has faithfully served Northland Christian School for 17 years and has been an integral part of the success and daily operations of the athletic department. Her dedication to students, coaches, families, and the Northland community has made a lasting impact, and we are excited to see her continue serving in this expanded leadership role.

Together, Cliff and Patti will provide strong leadership for Northland Athletics as we continue building programs that honor Christ and serve our students with excellence.”
Cliff and his wife, Dena, are excited to return to the Northland community and look forward to investing in the next generation of Cougars.
