Football | Northland Christian School

You are here

Northland Christian is embarking on a new road with our football program. We anticipate building on what the players, individually and collectively, have already accomplished, and we are going to take this team to a new level of state and national prominence. As you will learn, as a player and coach, I have been privileged to be a part of four programs that have reached these levels. The common thread among these successful programs was a deep commitment to excellence by the team, the parents and the community.

WE ARE Northland Christian School! When I exclaim that to our team, each player and coach knows that individually we are a part of something bigger and that we represent our teammates, our families, our school, our community, and our God. I have always believed that God blesses each of us with very special gifts, and what we do with those gifts are our gifts back to God. Our first goal for the team: Honor God with our gifts, on and off of the field.

Our team is building a foundation built on responsibility; each player and coach is responsible for keeping grades high, making healthy decisions physically, emotionally and spiritually, and holding ourselves and fellow teammates to a higher standard of accountability and expectation. I believe this football program has a huge amount of potential both on and off the football field. I believe we can become stronger leaders, support other athletic and extracurricular activities, serve as spiritual leaders of the school and be positive role models for our fellow students.

This football team has been given a tremendous amount of support and as Luke 12:48 states, ". . . To whom much is given, from him much shall be required." We have a God-given responsibility to be giving back to the school and community that support us. We, as coaches, players and a team as a whole are pledging to live this principle every day. It will make us stronger, more dedicated, more responsible and more Christ-like on and off the field. WE will be stewards of our team and ambassadors of our school in the community. Our second goal for the team: Honor our fellow teammates, school, families and community, on and off the field.

We have a plan and goals that are set for this program that would inevitably make it a state and eventually a national powerhouse. I, and every coaching staff member, understand what it takes to take a program to such heights. It will not be easy. It's going to take time and commitment by the coaching staff, and we are very dedicated to this task. We believe our young men deserve a coaching staff that is willing to go the extra mile to make them the best they can be. We have no doubt that each player joins us in our commitment to the 2018 season. Together our team will spend its time wisely developing those skills and talents necessary for a safe and successful season. Our third goal for the team: WIN STATE!

I hope you are as excited about all of this as we are, and even more, I hope that you will join us in supporting each of our players, each of our coaches, our team and our goals. You are very much an integral part of this team and our success. Always remember--- WE ARE Northland Christian School!
