Jim Drachenberg

Dr. Jim Drachenberg has an outstanding career in physics ahead of him! Why is Northland so proud? Because Jim and his family got their start at Northland Christian School. A 2000 graduate of Northland, Jim attended all thirteen years of his pre-college education at Northland including pre-school years and three years of “Mother's Day Out” program.

During his school career, Jim was an outstanding student and had the opportunity to become an a varsity athlete. In his school career, Dr. Drachenberg was a three-year letterman on the NCS Soccer Team and a four-year letterman on the NCS Baseball Team. He participated in Texas Christian School Academic Meet, Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Academic Meet on a regular basis. Jim says, “What I remember best were trips to Abilene for the Academic meet and winning four games in five days to make the baseball playoffs my senior year--those were exciting days!” Jim also participated in the Christian Council and even tied for the winning performance in the school “Talent Show.”

His experience at Northland in competitive sports provided strong experiences for what his future in the United States Army Reserve. He received an Award for Excellence in Academics and Athletics--two aspects of growth important at Northland. Probably, Jim Drachenberg is best known for my being involved in nearly everything at Northland. Mrs. Deanna Graves said of him, “Jim was an involved young man with a vision for the future. We are all proud of his many accomplishments and look forward to hearing about how he meets his goals that will certainly benefit mankind. Jim will make a difference in the world.”

Conversely, Jim can testify to the school’s impact on his life, “NCS afforded me participation in numerous activities unavailable to me in public school. I studied under exceptional teachers who upheld rigorous standards to both academics and character. I learned how to dig deep into God’s Word and employ that knowledge in a life of faith.” I am so pleased that Northland Christian School continues to educate for the future. We need Christian leaders in every aspect of society.”
