Lady Cougar volleyball primed and ready for playoffs

VB teamThe Lady Cougar volleyball team played their last district match of the season at home against the Lady Warriors from Cypress Christian Thursday evening. After losing in 5 sets at Cypress Christian just a few short weeks ago, the Lady Cougars avenged that loss and showed great improvement by defeating the Lady Warriors in the 5th set, 15 to 12.

Coach Susan Baerenwald has the group playing with confidence and peaking when it matters the most. The veteran players, Josie Bower, Rachel Gidden, Grace Trevino, and Meredith Hinkle are playing inspired and setting a great example for the younger players. We have also seen the newcomers to varsity, Miranda Simmons, Heidi Gidden, Nicole Berkeland, and Aimee Arash-Ajayi, grow, improve, and contribute in significant ways.

The Lady Cougars have a playoff tune-up match schedule at Episcopal High School on Tuesday, October 24th, at 5:30pm. After which, they will make preparations to travel to Austin to play either Brentwood Christian, or Texas School for the Deaf.

Please continue to support all of our great athletic programs, and give these young ladies all of your support as they prepare for a special playoff run.
