> Meet the Chaplains
Mrs. Heather Harmann received her BA in Christian Education from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN and her MA in Theology from Concordia University, Irvine, CA. She brings her theological background and expertise to Northland’s Bible classes and will be teaching at both the Middle School and the High School in the fall.
“I believe God has called me to Northland to prepare students to grow in their understanding of their faith and be empowered to live that faith and shine the light of Jesus in the world.”
Mr. Josh Gentry graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Biblical Text with an emphasis in youth ministry and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity. He will be joining Northland as a Bible teacher (8th grade and 11th grade boys) and Chaplain, and will also be coaching MS baseball.
“Since my late teens, I have felt called to work with teens and families. In my teens, my youth pastors loved and led me through some of the hardest years of my life when my best friend died in a car crash. This is the same passion and help which I long to bring to teens as they navigate the highs and the lows which the world brings us. Karl Barth famously said ‘Take your Bible and take your newspaper, and read both. But interpret newspapers from your Bible.’ This is what I long to teach teenagers to do. Interpret what is going on in the world through the lens of their faith.”
