We are excited to announce the 2022 Black & Gold Gala Derby Day website is now open.  We are ready to Double Down for the children! 
 
This year we have the exciting opportunity to raise funds for a number of campus improvement projects:
  • Renovating the kitchen in our cafeteria, which will allow us to offer a greatly improved dining experience for our students
  • Campus beautification
  • Improving campus walkways with new paths and coverings
  • Upgrading the stadium sound system

BLACK & GOLD GALA FAQS

What is Black and Gold Gala?
The Black & Gold Gala is an annual fundraising event for Northland Christian School, usually held during the spring semester. In years past, this event has raised funds for stadium lights, new desks, computers, etc. This year’s event, while raising funds for some important and exciting campus projects, will also provide a time of fellowship and fun for our Northland family. 
 
Who should attend Black & Gold?
Everyone! This event is for all current Northland families, past Northland families, alumni, and friends of Northland. Anyone who wants to support Northland Christian School is invited to be a part of this event.
 
What is planned for this event?
This event has both a virtual silent auction the week before the event, as well as an in-person dinner with multiple ways to participate, win fabulous prizes, and support Northland—a raffle, balloon pop, spirits pull, big board, and live auction. You must purchase tickets (or a table) in advance to attend the in-person event, but you can participate in the virtual silent auction (and still support Northland) even if you aren’t planning to attend Black & Gold in person. Details about the silent auction will be sent in the coming weeks.
 
What is the timeline for this year’s Black & Gold event?
At 6:00 p.m., the event opens with a social hour. Guests will be able to participate in the balloon pop, view the raffle items and big board items, and see a preview of the live auction items. During the social hour, light bites will be served, and a cash bar will be available offering mixed drinks, beer, and wine (with mint juleps, of course, being the signature cocktail for attendees). 
 
Following the social hour will be dinner and a live auction emceed by a special guest. The evening concludes with the closing of the Big Board and raffle, so guests can be sure to take home the fantastic prizes that they won! More detailed information about the timeline will be sent in the coming weeks. 
 
Where is this year’s Black & Gold Gala taking place?
The event will be held on the outdoor patio of The Butler House, located at 23931 Gosling Road, Spring, TX 77389. We have chosen the same location as last year’s event because of the wonderful experience this venue was able to provide
 
Is there a way for me to support this event, but not attend?
Yes, of course! There are several ways you can participate in the 2022 Black & Gold Gala Derby Day even if you’re not able to attend the event.
 
  • You can help by being an event underwriter or sponsor. See Underwriting Opportunities above to see the available opportunities that will greatly benefit the school and help fund the Black & Gold event
  • You can help by donating items to our raffle, spirits pull, Big Board, or live auction. If you have individual items or season tickets, vacation homes, or other experiences that you would like to donate, fill out the Donate Items page or contact Marianna Stivers at mstivers@northlandchristian.org or 281-587-6413.
  • You can bid on items in the silent auction. The virtual silent auction opens the week before the event, and you can participate and bid on items even if you aren’t attending the in-person event.
  • You can bid on items in the live auction and Big Board and pre-purchase raffle tickets for the event. Our “ghost bidders” will represent you in person at the live event to help you bid on/purchase tickets for prizes.
  • Finally, you can purchase a table and/or tickets by clicking Purchase Tables/Ticket and donate them back to the event so that we can invite families who might not otherwise be able to attend.
