Northland Summer Camps

Dear Northland Families,
As our 2019-20 school year draws to an expected—yet quite unexpected—close, I wanted to write to you to thank everyone for the hard work invested in our students’ education these last few months. Whether teaching, being taught, or assisting students at home with the transition to an online learning platform, I am so impressed by the commitment of the entire Northland family. None of us would have chosen these circumstances, and we all know that the virtual interactions in our online classrooms, as great as they are, cannot replace the learning and life we enjoy together on campus.
In making decisions about online versus on-campus learning, we are guided by a commitment to the health and well-being of the school community, as well as a commitment to doing our part as an institution to help “flatten the curve” of the rate of infection in this region.
Earlier this week, our governor gave the green light to open schools as early as June 1 for summer programs. We have been working for weeks to prepare for the safe and responsible reopening of our campus. You may have already received information about upcoming summer camps—please see below for details about some of these.
We will be following recommended health protocols for all student programs this summer, as well as when we are back on campus for the start of school in August. One of the benefits of a small, private school like Northland is that we can move quickly, adjusting safety precautions as needed.
While we have all been away, the campus has been thoroughly cleaned. We have also ordered enough antibacterial and cleaning products to ensure that every classroom can maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness. In the coming days, we will be providing everyone with information about updated campus health protocols and sending detailed information to those who are participating in summer programs.
Thank you for all that you have done to make sure that our students received the care and support they needed these past few months. We are looking forward to seeing you on campus soon.

David Pruett, Head of School
