As a child of God, I appreciate so much when I receive a compliment directly related to my spiritual growth. Someone else noticing a positive change in my walk with Christ carries more punch than if I simply notice the change myself, or as I once heard, outside recognition validates the transformation. I will always need to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ, as I am a sinner and in need of change, or spiritual transformation. What do I need to place at the foot of the cross? What do I need to surrender to Jesus Christ? I try to keep these questions before me on a continual basis and strive to listen to those I trust for cues
on what changes I need to consider for increased spiritual maturity.
As I examine myself, so we as a school examine ways in which we can more accurately reflect the image of Christ. This school sincerely desires to be a light for Jesus. We are asking those questions and changes are taking place. May we all recognize, no matter how long we have followed Christ, that there is always room for a deeper relationship with Christ. This is not just an institution for academic growth, but also for spiritual growth.
The spiritual theme this year will constantly challenge and stretch both faculty and students alike. And if you notice a God-honoring change or growth in an NCS family member, then please tell that person, “God looks good because of the transformation in your life.” God simply sacrificed too much for us not to examine ourselves… |
