NCS 2009-10 Ministry Suggestions

Below is a sampling of suggestions to investigate in making a decision on which ministry/nonprofit for your child to serve for the 2009-2010 school year. There is complete freedom to choose, so choose from this list, or not. I have tried to provide a medley of area options, as our students have been given from God an array of spiritual gifts, interests, and talents. Most of the choices have been served by NCS in previous years.

The prayer is to go beyond simply making an appearance, but to build a relationship with the ministry served. I encourage the decision to be made as a family, through prayer. Please recognize the goal is to get beyond the comfortable and protective walls of NCS and your home church, and instead strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the great city of Houston. Each student is being asked to accrue the required number of service hours by exclusively serving the selected ministry. Each student is also being challenged to not solely focus on the number of hours accumulated, but instead to serve “with everything,” as we serve a Savior who gave His everything.

Please peruse these selections and don’t hesitate to contact me with questions. They are in no particular order. Be encouraged, as God wants to use your child now, not later. The Kingdom of God advances with or without us. We choose to join God in what He is doing in Houston. Pray big, because God is BIG!
