Cougar Christmas @ the Bridges Apartments
Saturday, December 5, 2009

Cougar Christmas was epic! The party could not have been more successful. We were blessed with the privilege of serving the children of the Bridges Apartments. Plenty of smiling faces attended, and some kids even wore their Sunday best for the party. They were so appreciative and respectful. Many mothers, and even a few fathers, also attended the party.

We offered cookie decorating, which was then promptly chomped into oblivion, Christmas hat decorating, ornament decorating, coloring, and the most popular, bingo, where each winner received a door prize! We even proudly served Starbucks hot apple cider and hot chocolate! The room was a perfect happy mess of glue, glitter, cookie sprinkles, and candy canes.

I want to offer my special thanks to my friends, Josh and Debbs Walker. They also serve weekly at the Bridges, but not tutoring like NCS, but skateboarding! Josh brought his ramps and boards, so our students also played outside on a perfect day. By the way, Clay Henson and Tyler Hazard can shred on a board!

I wish to thank Sarah Holley for her excellent planning and heart for Jesus. She continues to amaze me by her desire to glorify God. Thanks to Barbara Cano, Renee Holley, and to all the students who chose to spend a Saturday loving on kids, which I know for all of us was hardly a sacrifice.
