Are you available?
I remember my Grandparents telling me captivating stories of sacrifices made by Americans during World War II. There was a teamwork and unity among all citizens which connected and intertwined them with the soldiers. Saving this, donating that, all patriots felt compelled to serve in some capacity, official or unofficial. This is how a battle is won and unity is fully realized.
It is no different in the spiritual realm. We are in an unseen battle. This is not debatable, but factual. We simply must be aware of this reality. We must learn to see the world and people the way God does, through eyes of fierce, unquenchable love. Once aware, the next step to make ourselves available for the cause, for the battle.
Please join me in prayer . . .
Students and faculty have been challenged to stand and be counted. I have decided to stand and be counted by going to the Outdoor Classroom Memorial each Thursday morning at 7 AM to pray for students and faculty. The invitation is extended to join me in prayer during this time and/or to be prayed over. Prayer will be elevated even more on the campus of NCS. Not only will we believe in the power of prayer, but more importantly, believe in our great need for prayer. |
How does this look? Well, it looks different for each person. God paints the picture. He has generously given each of us gifts and talents and we are challenged to use those gifts and talents for God. He is our audience. We work for Him. To God goes the glory.
Once we feel and trust God’s promised forgiveness and unending love for each of us, we are propelled toward a desire to STAND UP AND BE COUNTED! In other words, to be available for service in God’s Kingdom. We can make a profound difference simply by offering our gifts and talents back to God for Him to use in this battle over lost souls.
This year we will all be challenged to serve in this unseen war. Each role is needed. There is no agenda other than to respond the way the great prophet Isaiah did when he experienced God’s majesty, was cleansed from his sins, and then boldly proclaimed, “Here am I, send me!” (Isaiah 6:8b NIV)
Imagine with me . . .
Remember last year when almost the entire secondary student body responded to Nick Vujicic’s invitation on Spiritual Renewal Day? Those present will never forget the unity felt and the obvious Spirit-led moment. Now imagine with me what could happen if our entire student body and faculty truly and humbly made ourselves available to God through the sacrificial offering of our gifts and talents. I do not know what this would look like, but I can say God would paint the picture and we would not be able to take our eyes off of it. We would be hypnotized by its beauty and power.
LET’S STAND UP AND BE COUNTED
