Christian Council Spring Blood Drive
Monday, November 3, 2008
Secondary Campus, Room 725

I would like to again congratulate the Northland family on another successful blood drive.  We collected 62 units! The means about 126 lives saved!

Our plan is to host two drives each school year, one in the fall (October or November), and one in the spring (March or April). We hope our regular Northland donors will make plans to support these two drives.

Again, I was moved by the first-time donors, most of whom were sixteen years of age, and therefore in need of parental permission to give. One male student, 16, worked all day to make the necessary arrangements for him to complete his first donation. I was honored and moved by his selfless spirit.

I also want to give some serious props to our Business Office, as all four staff members in the office donated.  This was our fourth blood drive and I believe this was the first time for an office on campus to have 100% participation. Please congratulate the Business Office on saving lives.

Considering how many of our eligible students participate in mission trips to third-world countries, which makes them ineligible to give for a full year, I am thrilled to again top the 60 mark on number of units.

Lastly, I continue to be inspired by those scared of needles who still give.  We all have fears, but we do not all face our fears. These donors realize something greater is at stake than a measly fear of needles.  Praise God!
