We serve a God who hates injustice. All through Scripture God communicates to us in no uncertain terms that we should seek opportunities to rescue the innocent from oppression and abuse. Towards the end of last school year one of our young senior men, Aaron Walther, shared with me a ministry that exists to rescue victims from injustice. The video he gave me, The Justice Mission, opened my eyes to a need that could not be ignored. I simply had no idea such suffering of children still occurred in our modern world. I was angry to learn of young ladies being sexually exploited, and children sold into slavery to pay off impossible debts because of astronomical interest rates. I watched a video of abused children, who were working on construction sites from sunrise to sunset, day after day, month after month, year after year. In spite of this sad revelation, I was encouraged to learn of a ministry which exists to deliver justice.

International Justice Mission (IJM) was formed when human rights professionals, lawyers, and public and law enforcement officials united in response to missionaries worldwide reporting on visible injustice, but feeling unequipped to deal with the magnitude of suffering being witnessed. Needless to say our students agreed with Aaron’s idea to help assist IJM in their quest to help those who cannot help themselves. Students united in the last remaining days of the 2006-07 school year to raise $1000.00 for the ministry of IJM.
