Experiencing together an ALL-SCHOOL CHAPEL SERVICE was a momentous occasion in the history of Northland Christian School. Veteran employees tell me a combined K-12 chapel service had not occurred since the Sylvanfield campus opened in 1989, the year I graduated. Amazing! The event took considerable planning and the selection of a program
that could communicate equally to children, teenagers, and adults. Please
welcome COMMANDOS USA! (www.commandosusa.com)
What better service for this historic occasion than a group of manly men breaking and bending stuff in the name of Jesus? With loud music, a rappel from the ceiling of the Teen Center, and patriotic themes, Commandos USA, led by Billy Lowery (Hannah and Rebekah Krob's uncle), started the service with serious energy. Add to their energy the inherent buzz in the air because of Homecoming and you have the needed ingredients for a memorable event in the history of Northland.
Following the strength displays, Billy Lowery then transformed into an old-school preacher, courageously and non-apologetically delivering the timeless gospel message of Jesus Christ. One female student, Autumn Mastin, responded to the invitation and gave her life to Jesus. At her request she was baptized the next Tuesday with faculty and friends witnessing the precious occasion. We love you Autumn!
Thank you all for the patience shown on this day full of surprises and transportation challenges. We made safety a priority for our secondary students and the Teen Center is still standing. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity for all of us to remember the feeling of being under one roof as a Christian school family!
