NCS 24-Hour Prayer
And the Lord heard our prayers . . .

Thank you to those who participated in the first 24-Hour Prayer, which was held in the Secondary Chapel. To say I was simply moved by the experience would be an injustice to the Power of the Lord so genuinely felt by all who lifted prayers and cries to God Almighty. I was in awe of how the Lord moved through the prayer. An area Youth Minister described the atmosphere as a “Buffet of Prayer.” God was not confined by any one theology, but instead revealed himself how He chose to be revealed through each prayer warrior.

The Chapel was prepared for prayer. The atmosphere demanded your humility and attention. I praise God for the courageous women who so tenderly and boldly created an environment conducive to prayer. The Chapel was like an invitation sent to God, and the Lord was definitely in attendance!

The variety was endless. Many kinds of prayers were lifted through the full day of prayer. I was moved to tears on numerous occasions and stayed through the night because I was afraid I would miss something wonderful.

I praise God for our student Chelsea Steven's powerful PowerPoint presentation she created, which was projected for the full 24 hours! Many worshipped to the Scriptures and images along with thoughtful music carefully chosen for the occasion. There were even fragrant candles burning, creating yet another way to experience God. And most special to me was the opportunity provided to partake of Communion. Thank you Jesus!

There is no way I can individually thank all who participated, but there are a few who deserve specific mention for being such a threat to Satan by the way they transformed the Chapel into a Spiritual cell phone with unlimited minutes! I praise God for Lexi and RJ Damon, Jane Winne (Jane stayed for almost the entire prayer and was a powerful instrument of peace throughout the prayer), Jan Hart, Jan Knudsen, Karen Eckhart, and Mignonne Anderson. I also praise God for Lexi Damon's “Twelve” who each committed two hours as a “Prayer Usher.” You know who you are and how much your participation meant to the success of this historical event.

Father God:
You are awesome! You are the Creator of all we can see, and mostly what we cannot see! Thank you for not treating us as our sins deserve. Lord, we thank you for how you are moving on the campus of NCS. We ask for your wisdom as we continue to learn how to “think eternally.” Please protect this school from Satan's attacks. We boldly call on the name of Jesus to protect the student body of Northland Christian School . May the aroma of this school be sweet in your holy presence. And Father, we humbly and confidently ask for the prayer we started in the Chapel to never end…In Jesus precious name, Amen.
