Newsboys Concert
At the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Friday, March 13, 2007

Wow, what an amazing evening of spiritual rejuvenation! I personally needed a night of praise and devotion, along with a few thousand Texans standing and singing on the hilly lawn of Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Newsboys are seasoned veterans, and along with experience, they have spiritual maturity in their performance, not to mention a lot of high-tech toys, video, and lighting.

The Newsboys chose Houston to film their DVD of their present “Go Tour.” They were spiritually prepared for the evening and the attending students connected to the show, both spiritually and from an entertainment standpoint (Who can forget the rising, spinning drum duel which defied gravity? You had to see it to believe it!). One seventh grade boy, who needed some convincing before agreeing to attend, told me he's already downloaded a few Newsboys songs. During the concert he kept asking me the name of each song. How powerful it was when it started to rain at the same time the Newsboys sang my personal favorite, “He Reigns.” I thoroughly enjoyed the time with the students and my dad, who also attended (According to one student, my dad was “tight,” because he wore his hat backwards during the show!).

All of the above was possible because of one mom listening to the Lord's calling on her heart to purchase the tickets for NCS students and friends. Thank you to Diane Adamez for your precious offering of these tickets and the resulting night of thankful memories. God is praised because of your step of faith!

† All the pictures were taken at the Bammel Teen Center , the new world-class youth facility for the Bammel Church of Christ youth. Thanks to Bammel for allowing us to use this amazing facility for dinner (Chick-Fil-A came through again!) and fellowship. Thanks also to Mr. Lemm for being our entertaining driver.
