Northland Christian School Secondary PTO

What is the PTO?
The PTO is a nonprofit parent teacher organization whose membership includes all parents and legal guardians of students, and staff at NCS. We desire to establish a close relationship between home and school by advancing opportunity for all parents to become involved in the school community. We sponsor assistance to teachers in classroom settings, raise funds for educational materials, support school and family social interaction, and provides a non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

What is required of a PTO member?
Participation in PTO activities is not required for membership, but is warmly welcomed! Contribute as much or as little time as you like.

How is the PTO funded?
• Annual memberships and contributions
• Evening of Stars fundraiser (shared project with school and elementary PTO)
• Other fundraisers such as Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough sale

How do I join the PTO?
Join online or download and fill out the Membership/Volunteer Interest Form (click here) and mail with payment to NCS PTO.

Anne Henderson and Nancy Berla summed it up in their book A New Generation of Evidence: The Family Is Critical to Student Achievement, which reviewed the existing research: "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better."
