Varsity volleyball cruises in straight sets over Bay Area Christian

VB team

The Varsity Volleyball team continues their strong district campaign with an impressive and dominating performance over Bay Area Christian.

The Cougars were in charge throughout, with 2 of the 3 sets yielding lopsided victories.

The team's top performers remain strong. Rachel Gidden continues to anchor the defensive and passing phases of the game, Meredith Hinkle strikes fear into opponents with her thunderous spikes, and Nicole Berkeland continues her great play at setter.

Continuing to improve and add value to the squad are Josie Bower, Miranda Simmons, and Aimee Arash-Ajayi. Josie's serve has become a great offensive weapon for the team, and can put the cougars on long scoring rallies. Miranda's play at the net continues to impress as her blocks and kills are helping push this team toward a playoff birth. Aimee Arash-Ajayi has been a steady offensive weapon with great serves and net play, but her continued improvement in passing from the back row is beginning to pay huge dividends.

The Lady Cougars are currently 5 and 2 in district play, and look to continue their winning ways at home against Woodlands Christian on Thursday, October 5th.

Make sure to come out and show your support! Junior Varsity begins at 5pm, and Varsity begins at 6pm.
