Secondary eclipse information

Content of an email sent to parents Friday, August 18th, 2017

Greetings,

I hope your children have had a wonderful first 2 days of school. It has been a pleasure to see our students and teachers engaged in learning as I walk the campus. Please continue to pray that God will do extraordinary things at NCS this school year.

As you know there will be an eclipse taking place on Monday afternoon. NCS has been blessed by a family who has purchased ISO 12312-2 certified glasses for all our students and staff. Information about the glasses is attached below. Our science teachers have been talking to the students about the eclipse as well as safety measures for viewing it. We will be allowing all secondary students to come to the practice field on Monday at 1:00 to view the eclipse with their ISO certified glasses. Each teacher will be with their class to monitor them during this special opportunity.

If you would prefer for your student not to view the eclipse, we will be live streaming the eclipse in room 500 (room will be supervised). All students who do not go outside will go to room 500 for the live streaming. After students have had the opportunity to view the eclipse our awesome PTO is providing a cold treat for each student and teacher.

Please send an email to Mrs. Eller (aeller@northlandchristian.org) if you would prefer your child only watch the live stream in room 500. We are looking forward to this unique opportunity and hope it will be an exciting experience for all our students and teachers.

Have a great weekend,
