Northland MS football routs Salem Lutheran!

MS FOOTBALLThe Middle School Football Team played on Thursday night, September 21, to make up a game that was postponed due to Hurricane Harvey.

Salem Lutheran is always a tough opponent for the Cougars, but under Coaches Webster, Quinn, and Pounds, the players show drastic improvement each week.

The Cougars were in charge from the beginning, leading 16-0 at halftime.

Interceptions were grabbed with frequency by 8th graders, Nick Ray and Bryce Glaspie. Several key turnovers put the Cougars in great position to advance their offensive attack.

Running hard to push the ball forward were Andrew Philips and Steve Austin. This one two punch in the backfield gave Trinity fits all afternoon.

Pushing the defense back, and creating room to run were 8th grade linemen, Josh Warnock and Dayne Eller.

The final score, 30-13, does not paint a true picture of how dominant the performance was by our middle school football team.

The Cougars were unrelenting and opportunistic defensively, and attacking downhill on offense.

Expect improvement every week out of this team and coaching staff.

The Middle School Team is back in action next Thursday at Western Academy.
