Middle School football continues to grow and improves to 2-2!

MS FootballThe Middle School Football team has showed steady and progressive growth each week under the instruction of Coaches Webster, Pounds, and Quinn.

Coach Pounds stated "they look less like boys playing football, and more like football players".

The team was in action last night against Western Academy in the Spring Branch Area. Though the score was close, the Cougars were in control the entire game, and held on late for a 24-22 victory!

The team showed great improvements in all three facets of the game. Vaughn Russell placed a perfect onside kick to give the Cougars momentum. Bryce Glaspie highlighted the defensive performance by intercepting a pass and returning it 70 yards for a cougar touchdown. Joel Quintella, Andrew Philips, and Cal Lemm dominated the line of scrimmage with several sacks and tackles for losses, leaving the Western offensive attack confused and reeling.

Steve Austin, Andrew Philips, and Bryce Glaspie were relentless runners for the offense, and pounded the Western defense into submission.

The Cougars return to action in two weeks against Fort Bend on October 12th.
