The National Speech & Debate Association, the world's largest organization to promote speech and debate education, training and competition, is proud to announce the selection of the five students to represent the United States at the World Schools Debating Championship in Bali, Indonesia this August.
From over 135,000 student members, nine were chosen to represent the US this school year, traveling both domestically and internationally, compiling awards and recognition in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Dallas and Boston as well as Germany, Croatia and Singapore while competing against students from five continents.
Five of these nine have now been chosen to compete for the ultimate championship this summer. This selection reflects their extraordinary talent, work ethic, success, and exemplary character.
The USA will be represented by Colette Faulkner (Kingwood HS, Houston TX) - team captain, Aditya Dhar (The Harker School, San Jose CA), Ellie Grossman (The Blake School, Minneapolis MN), Sarah Lanier (Northland Christian School, Houston TX), and Ella Michaels (North Hollywood HS, Los Angeles CA).
We congratulate these students on this enormous honor and wish them well as they begin preparations for August.
