College Goal Sunday – Lone Star College – Montgomery

A non-profit program that provides information and assistance to Texas families applying for financial assistance. Educational professionals will assist families in completing the FAFSA which is required for students seeking financial aid, grants, loans and work study.

USA Funds Access to Education Scholarship – USA Funds will award up to $3.2 million in new, renewable scholarships to students demonstrating financial need. KFC Colonel’s Scholars

Coca-Cola Share the Dream $15,000 Scholarship Essay Contest
This year’s essay topic is “Reality TV is a huge part of today’s culture. What impact do you believe it has made on your self esteem, body image and social behaviors? How do you see it affecting your friends?” All essays must be postmarked by February 29, 2008. Additional information is available in the counselor’s office.
St. John’s University – Catholic Student Scholarship
Honoring St. John’s historic commitment to preparing Catholic students for personal and professional success. Awards range from $1,000 to $2,500 depending on demonstrated financial need. Application deadline is March 1, 2008.
Johnson & Wales University – the world-renowned culinary educator. Chef of the Year challenge is open to all high school seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen. More than $600,000 in scholarships will be awarded this year. Entry deadline: March 3, 2008.

The 2008 Don’t Mess with Texas Scholarships recognizes the achievements of high school seniors who have taken leadership roles to prevent litter in their schools and/or communities.
