The Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Students attend the academy for four years, graduating with Bachelor of Science degrees and commissions as ensigns in the Navy or second lieutenants in the Marine Corps. Texas A&M University – Whoopin' Weekend
Feb. 28 – Mar. 1, 2008: This is a three day program in the spring semester where students get a first hand look of what Texas A&M University is all about. Whoopin' Weekend is geared toward high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Participants get the opportunity to take part in discussion groups with members of the Aggie Recruitment Committee. In addition to discussion groups, participants will also get the chance to be a part of a mixer, take in a Fightin' Texas Aggie sporting event, and spend a couple of nights in the residence halls with current students to get the full experience of what it is like to be an Aggie. Registration opens January 11, 2008. Space is limited!

Rise and sign is an information session for high school juniors and their families held during Explore UT that offers information about admissions, housing, paying for college and achieving success after high school. Rise and Shine reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are required for participation in the program.
