All students at the Secondary Campus must wear the school uniform every day, unless instructed by a teacher or administration to dress differently because of a special event or field trip. The purpose of the uniform code is to classify a standard of appearance that will encourage our students to bring glory to God (I Cor. 10:31 ). The uniform code is not intended to measure spirituality, but to serve as a tool to create an atmosphere free from distraction. There are several other important reasons why a uniform is required at NCS:
• Safety: Visitors on campus are noticed and students are more easily monitored on field trips.
• Economy measure for parents.
• Enhance school spirit.
• De-emphasize outward appearance and stress in its place the need for inner beauty and character development.
• Discipline: Teachers and administrators at NCS believe students are more self-controlled when in uniform.
All NCS dress code and uniform requirements are to be followed during the school day and on all school trips such as athletic events, literary meets, and field trips where students represent NCS. Most uniform items must be purchased through the Cougar Store located in the Central Administration Building on the secondary campus, 4363 Sylvanfield, 281-587-6416.

Dress Code Violations
Dress code compliance is about attitude. We believe that dress standards will be required throughout life. It is our goal to teach compliance and encourage cooperation because it simply is the right and appropriate course of behavior. Students who “fight” the system are learning habits which will have negative outcomes on into adulthood. Therefore, dress code violations will be addressed as follows:
A. For each violation a Debit will be completed and recorded in the student's discipline record, with immediate uniform correction required. Student will not be allowed to return to class until correction is made. Any class time missed will be unexcused.
B. Dress Code Penalties – The following penalties will be assigned for dress code violations and these penalties will accumulate throughout the entire academic year. It should be noted, also, that during each week that a dress code violation is recorded, the loss of the spirit dress day privilege will be enforced.
1st Offense – Extension Center assignment for one hour and loss of spirit wear for one week
2nd Offense – Two Extension Center assignments for one hour each and loss of spirit wear for four weeks
3rd Offense – Saturday School assignment and parent conference and loss of spirit wear for remainder of semester
4th Offense – Two Saturday School Assignments
5th Offense – Two-day assignment in ISS, forfeiture of exemptions for semester, and loss of field trip privileges for the remainder of the semester or three months
6th Offense – Four-day assignment in ISS
7th Offense – Two day suspension (OSS), four-day assignment in ISS, and placement on disciplinary probation
