April 17, 2012
Kevin Roberts (KROB), Director of the NCS Debate Team, is proud to announce the hiring of Courtney Nunley, NCS 2008 graduate, as the new Head Coach of the NCS Debate Team.
KROB noted, “Courtney has been an integral part of the NCS debate family for the past 7 years. I look forward to her rejoining our team and bringing the dedicated work ethic and Best Effort that she exemplifies.”
Courtney will graduate in May with a degree in Communications from Texas A & M University. She debated for three years on both the local and state tournament circuits for NCS, and was a three time qualifier to the Texas Forensic League Debate and Speech State Tournament.
Courtney also had great success on the national tournament circuit. She advanced to elimination rounds at nearly every national tournament that she competed in including Harvard, St. Marks, Blake, Grapevine and Victory Briefs Tournament in Los Angeles. Courtney received top speaker awards at the Texas Forensic Association State tournament, St. Marks, Grapevine, Victory Briefs Tournament and Hockaday Round Robin.
She was the NCS Debate team's first qualifier to the Tournament of Champions hosted by the University of Kentucky. Courtney ended her debate career by placing 10th in the nation in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the National Forensic Leagues National Debate Tournament.
Courtney has continued to stay active in the debate community while in college. She has directed NCS Debate Team Camp the past 4 summers, taught at the University of North Texas debate camps for three years, and Pinnacle Debate Institute for four years.
