From the moment you walked in the door at the Spring Fine Arts Concert, the tone was set. The Jazz band could be heard playing tunes that made you want to dance.  As the band played, audience members perused art and photography displayed throughout the gym. The choir and orchestra concert took us through the ages with hilarious drama skits intermixed. The audience shook their groove thing in the ‘70’s segment, fell back in love with love songs from the ‘80’s, and laughed as the Men’s Choir moved and grooved to 90’s boy band hits. The orchestra played songs from movies from those decades, including the theme from “The Godfather”,” Star Wars” and “Forest Gump”. There were even musical arrangements composed by several of our Fine Arts students. Paul Lindsay and his senior back-up singers, Mike Cano, Derek Manning, Drew McConnell, Jonathan Nguyen and Evyn Pierre, brought down the house with a choreographed version of “Escape” by Julio Iglesias! The night closed with the choir performing “You Raise Me Up,” a special tribute to Grant Zeinert’s memory. It was a fantastic concert enjoyed by all; Northland truly has talent!
