Going into the last game of the season the Lady Cougars knew they would have a fight on their hands. The Ft. Bend Baptist Lady Eagles came into this game undefeated in district with one of the best pitchers in the state. Offensively we struggled with the velocity of the pitches. Senior Kailey Perkins had the best hard hit of the night but it landed squarely in the right fielder’s glove. Defensively we made some errors but the Lady Eagles hit the ball hard and many of their hits landed in the gaps. The final score was 0 – 15.
Tonight ended a hard fought season for the Lady Cougars. Four seniors played their last game tonight with as much character and class as ever. Hannah Davis, Brittany Flowers, Kailey Perkins and Sarah Steele leave behind big shoes for the underclassmen to fill. These girls have given me all that they could on the field this year. I am a better coach and person to have coached these four young ladies. They will certainly be missed next year but we wish them the best as the journey the Lord has called them to continues.
