Facing one of the top teams in the district the Lady Cougars knew they had their work cut out for them. The Lady Eagles of Second Baptist got out to an early lead in the first inning scoring 5 runs. They added another 5 in the second inning and 2 more in the third. We did limit our errors this game to just two. However, these errors allowed several of our runs to be unearned. Offensively we continued to struggle at the plate. We struggled with the velocity of the Lady Eagles’ pitcher but we did have several good at bats. Once again we had some girls that had to step in and play a new position. I am very proud of junior Ashlyn Templeton for stepping in and catching this game. Catching is one of the hardest positions on the field and Ashlyn did a great job stepping in to fill in for us.
