The Lady Cougars played another powerhouse today when they faced the Lady Knights of Episcopal. This game showed the incredible potential that the Lady Cougars have. Facing a senior pitcher with a lot of speed and movement the Lady Cougars got on the board first in the top of the first. They Lady Cougars held the Lady Knights scoreless until the bottom of the second when they tied the score 1 – 1. The defense of the Lady Cougars held strong and provided great support to sophomore pitcher Ashley Sheffield. In the bottom of the fifth the Lady Knights were able to capitalize on a few base hits to go ahead in the game 4 – 1. The Lady Cougars were held hitless in the 6 th and 7 th innings while the Lady Knights added 5 more runs in the bottom of the 6 th . The Lady Cougars showed great character and heart during this game. At no point did these ladies give up and they fought hard all the way through the 7 th inning. As a coach you can not ask for anything more from your team than they play as hard as possible and never give…the Lady Cougars did just that on this day.
