With only a week of practices under their belts the Lady Cougars faced a big challenge on Tuesday as they faced the defending TAPPS State Champions of Faith West. The Lady Cougars fought hard and with a lot of heart. Ashley Sheffield did a great job on the mound as she did her job by not allowing any walks in this game. However, the Lady Cougars had a hard time getting their bats going in the game. Lindsey Serres led the team with a triple, while Summer Steele and Brittany Flowers each had singles. The anxiety of the first game of the season seemed to get the best of us as defensively we struggled. However, I was very proud of the team as they never once gave up and battled hard all game. |
