The Lady Cougars opened district tonight with one of the toughest teams and pitchers in all of TAPPS. The Lady Eagle’s pitcher, Kendall Stiefel, proved to be a tough opponent striking out 20 of our 21 batters. The girls fought hard each at bat but simply couldn’t quite get their timing down to match Stiefel’s speed. Defensively, Laura Ashley made some excellent plays that stopped the Lady Eagles in some prime scoring opportunities. The nerves of the first district game are now behind us and we know there isn’t a team we will face that is any tougher than Second Baptist. The Lady Cougars will look to rebound from this loss as they face Houston Christian on Thursday in our first home district game.
