Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team on a strong finish to the season. The Cougars won 4 of their last 6 games to finish in 3rd place in the district. Early season losses to Westbury and Concordia were addressed in the last week of the season as the Coogs blanked Concordia 3-0 and slipped past Westbury 2-1 to wrap up the season. This is a young team with no seniors so look for the Black to be Back next year in a big way. Matt Nidoh led the scoring while Clark Fangmeier added some offensive punch late in the season after being moved from defense. Ryan Steele was solid in goal all year and Ben Camarillo was a joy to watch all over the field. Mike Ellisor was an offensive catalyst, playing midfield and forward. Taylor Smith provided several assists and Josh Yerian, Eric Fulco, and Tyler Lewis kept a tight defense that improved every game. Jeff Abt and Jose Aboroa were playmakers in the middle, with Jose providing the game winning goal in the final game. Way to go Cougars! |
