|
| Monday was a challenging day for the guys. The temperature was well below 40 degrees and the wind picked up to 25mph plus. We only had three players tee it up at Sienna Plantation so they played as individuals. Zack Baldwin finished 4th and AJ Ortenstone had a stellar 11th place finish. |

3rd place |
| We had a 3rd place team finish out of 8 teams at Willow Fork CC. It was not too bad for missing Kyle Martin and AJ Ortenstone. Zack Baldwin tied for 1st with 78 but finished 2ND in a scorecard playoff. Steven Chiang finished strong with an 80 for 3rd place. The course was our longest challenge so far playing at 6949 yards. Newcomer John Horsey helped the team out with his very first competitive round. |

| The boys had their best outing of the year at Windrose Golf Club. The day started out with a 1/2 inch of rain. They teed off after the rain without a warm up. The team finished second behind Houston Christian. They shot 333 as a team and beat their last winning score by 30 shots! Four players had personal bests for the year. Zack Baldwin was medalist for the second time with a 3 under 69. Stephen Chiang finished second overall with a 74. AJ Ortenstone shot 89 breaking 90 for the first time. John Horsey was amazing shooting 101 in his 2nd tournament ever, sixteen shots off last week's score. It was a great day for NCS golf! |

2nd place |
| Here is the good news! March 8th at Gleannloch Farms was a great day for NCS golf. It started pouring down rain on the second hole of the day and didn't let up. NCS finished 2nd as a team only to lose to Cy Fair High school (a large public school) by 6 shots. NCS shot 320, thirteen shots better than the week before. Medalist was Stephen Chiang with his best round of the year, a one over 73. Zach Baldwin was third with 76. AJ Ortenstone shot another personal best 85 and Kyle Martin came back with an 86. We are looking forward to the district tournament which is going to be held at Gleannloch Farms on March 29. |

AJ Ortenstone beat Drew Carmichael 4 and 3
Kyle Martin lost to Logan Ness 10 holes

2nd Place |
This team never ceases to amaze me. Last Monday at Gleannloch Farms, the Cougars had their personal best as a team shooting 311. They finished second behind Second Baptist. Zack Baldwin shot another 69 to win the tournament by 5 shots. Stephen Chiang stepped up and won the 4th spot with 77. The most remarkable finish was by Max Guerrero. Having another break through week, he shot 79, breaking 80 for the first time ever! All three players won All District Honors. Kyle Martin had a steady round of 86 to help the team. John Horsey playing as an individual shot 96. It is the first time he has broken 100 in competition. It was a big victory for him.
I have been so blessed to have such an enthusiastic and hard working group of kids. Thank you for giving them so much support. It is so fun for me to watch them strive to get better. |
