october 5, 2006:NCS JV vs. second baptist Big Win for JV Against Second Baptist
After going MIA for the first few weeks of the season, the JV Football team got an important district win Thursday night over Second Baptist 19-14. The win brings their district record to 1-1 with two of their toughest foes out of the way.
Shane Knight masterminded a brilliant drive right at the beginning of the game, converting 3/3 third downs along the way. He finished with a 25 yard TD pass to Josh Dennison and the Cougars led 7-0. The halftime score was 7-7, and the Cougs came out on all cylinders in the second half, scoring first on a 27 yard run by Evyn Pierre and then on a QB sneak by Jamie Peebles. That score followed a deep pass down the middle from Peebles to Dennison to the 3 yard line.
The Eagles made it interesting in the final minutes, but they were no match for the mighty Cougars. Next week, it's Westbury's turn to see what these guys are all about.
