On Monday February 19th, the sixth annual football banquet was held at Shirley Acres. It was a night of smiles and laughs as the season was remembered. Many tears were also shed from proud parents, emotional seniors, and all who love and remember our fallen brother Erik Castillo.
Mark Van Dyke led the invocation, and an incredible dinner was served by Bob Shirley and his staff to the more than 230 guests. All were treated to a slideshow by John Butler during dinner. Coach Sanford spoke of the accomplishments of the senior class, and team awards were given. All-District and All-State awards were handed out. Two highlights of the evening were a special presentation that Eric Fulco put together for the Castillo family, and the senior addresses, in which each departing senior spoke of the memories, challenged the upcoming classes, and thanked those who have helped them on the way.
The evening was closed out with a fantastic highlight film by Robert Townsend and the benediction led by Buddy Ellisor. It was the final chapter of a wonderful season, and left us with a realization of how good God is.
