GAME SUMMARY
In front of many loud Cougar faithful fans, Northland jumped out on Concordia scoring three times in the opening quarter. Junior QB, JP Tillman, scored twice on runs of 3 and 4 then he
hit sophomore receiver Brendan Green on a 68 yard scoring strike. Concordia ran a tough running game in the first half scoring in each of the 1st two quarters. At the halftime break many adjustments were made and Northland opened the half by forcing Concordia to punt then two plays later Tillman found speedy sophomore receiver Matt Krob for an exciting 74 yard touchdown. On the next series for Concordia, the Northland defense recovered a fumble and junior running back Isaiah Castillo ran the next play to pay dirt, dampening the spirits of the Concordia fans. The Black Swarm shut down the Crusader offense and finished the game by forcing 7 fumbles while recovering 4. Sophomore Garrett Van Dyke had his second consecutive stellar game on defense while also scoring his first offensive touchdown of his career, capping of the scoring
for the Cougars.
Northland has an off week this week and will be preparing for their
first home game of the season, a week from this Friday against division II power house Second Baptist.
