A note from Coach Reaves:

What a beautiful day for running! Rice provided a fan-friendly venue, so there was cheering and encouragement throughout the curvy, flat, and very fast course. This season we have been practicing on hills, thorns, high grass, deep puddles, thick mud, banana spiders, and even small cliffs! So needless to say our runners appreciated a well-mowed, sunny, and dry opportunity for running.

This was a large meet, with many large public schools, and all the private schools we know so well. The competition was deep, and although our runners performed well, there were no medals earned on this day. I do want to praise Ashley Mozey. She is our only varsity girl runner and I admire her courage. She is the team on the starting line and always runs with such conviction. At this meet she finished strong with a faster time on her second mile. Ashley is a senior, so I want to honor her and thank her for the privilege I have of coaching her very coachable spirit. Her gentle, respectful, and hard-working approach to running does not go unnoticed.
