A note from Coach Reaves:
Wow, what a test! We ran with the big guns, the public schools, the elite runners of the fourth largest city in America, Houston , TX. We showed heart and grit, and I was encouraged by the courage.

The weather was gray and drizzly, perfect for running, but unfortunately not for picture taking. We arrived with plenty of time to spare and even watched an actual custodian competition to inspire us and get us pumped for the run. I kid you not, Rice was hosting a custodian competition and our runners were fascinated by it!

One of our runners ministered to me and almost brought me to tears by the courage he showed when he arrived late and actually secured his number after the race had already started! He then sprinted to the starting line and ran the race strong to the finish line! He showed unbelievable determination, and most importantly, showed the true spiritual side of running. What an honor it is to be his coach!

Cougar Cross Country is not only improving physically, but we are growing spiritually. We will keep getting better.
