Uniform policy
Your complete uniform must be returned in original working order. No matter how legitimate your explanation may be you will still be required to pay for unreturned merchandise! Even if you are abducted by aliens and they keep your NCS Cross Country uniform you will still have to pay!
WHAT RUNNING SHOES SHOULD I BUY?
While it would be lovely for our shoes to represent NCS colors, it is far more important for your shoes to fit properly. I encourage you to have an expert fitting at a store that specializes in running gear. Two area stores are:
Fleet Feet

Runsport

In the Houston heat, synthetic fibers are better than cotton—for practices look for polyester or other moisture-wicking fabrics, preferably in school colors.

PRACTICE TIPS
You must bring your own beverages (water and sport drink) and salty snacks such as pretzels and/or nuts. We will take the bus to our practice locations and return to the school at the time stated above. On practice days, bring your running clothes, shoes, snack, drinks, and a hand towel. You must consistently attend practice or you will not run in the meet! No cell phone use until after practice!
IPODS are acceptable on Thursday's Long Run, on the bus after practice, and to and from the meets.
YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR PHYSICAL EXAM
BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN PRACTICE!
HEALTH TIPS: No junk food or excess sugar, eat complex carbs,
multi-vitamin, and lots of stretching & H2O!
DON'T FORGET YOUR SUNSCREEN!
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
– I Corinthians 9:24-27
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
– Phil. 3:12-14 NIV
