 Welcome to Northland Christian Cheerleading! We are excited for the 2006-2007 year. God has blessed us in so many ways this year. The Varsity Cheerleading squad has an new coach. Coach Carrie Martin comes to NCS with 8 years of teaching experience and 6 years of coaching experience. She hails from Indiana but has lived and taught in both Florida and Washington prior to settling with her husband here in Spring.
This year we have a full squad of 17 girls led by Senior Captains Marinel Alas and Sarah Greer. This year's Varsity Squad consists of: Nataleigh Chupp (12), Erica Fauser (12), Leeandria Williams (11), Leslie Meigs (11), Paige Houston (11), Kerri O'Neal (11), Lauren Purcell (10),  Allison Gilbert (10), Erin Klos (9), Mycah Hatfield (9), Ashleigh Gibbs (9), Emma Short (9), Kayla Purcell (9), and Maegen Odenweller (9), The Mascot!
The girls went to Waco, TX for NCA Cheer Camp! During this week the girls got to know the new coach and the coach got a feel for the talents of the squad. The girls worked hard and won the All Camp Chant Competition. By winning this competition, Northland Christian won a bid to cheer at either the Orange Bowl or the Hula Bowl. We also had two girls chosen for All American. Marinel Alas and Nataleigh Chupp both competed successfully for this honor. Captain Marinel Alas was also chosen as top cheerleader of the entire camp! Now we are into the start of the season and preparing three times a week for the Fall  Season which includes Football, Volleyball and Cross Country. On Mondays we have private instruction time at a gym where the girls are looking to improve their stunting and jumping skills. Tuesdays and Thursdays we work on Cheers, Chants, Dances and a myriad of other things that support Northland Christian Athletics. We look forward to seeing you at all of our sporting events.
