We knew that tonight's game vs. Rosehill Christian was going to be a battle. We played Rosehill in our first scrimmage of the year and knew they were a well rounded team. This game lacked no dull moments. We came out strong in the 1st outscoring Rosehill 11-7. Along with our 11 points, we picked up 6 fouls as well. Rosehill was in the bonus for most of the 2 nd period. We fell back into a 3-2 zone defense and they took full advantage of our zone and our foul situation. They outscored us 18-8 in the 2nd period to take a 25-19 lead at half. We rebounded in the third as we played full court man. We regained the lead as we started the 4 th period 31-28. The 4 th period was back and forth with both teams playing well. We hit some key free throws down the road which helped propel us to a 5 point lead with less than a minute to play. Rosehill continued to pressure the ball with an intense trap. The final score was in favor of Northland, 44-39.
      Amanda Haymaker from Rosehill led all scores with 25 points. The girls played extremely well on defense tonight. Led by Emily Wilson, everybody picked up their game. This was definitely a team win. Robyn Archer led the team with 16 points, followed by Bailee Pender with 11. Emily Wilson dominated the glass bringing down a season high 17 rebounds. Brittany Flowers led the team in assists with 4 before she left the game with a hand injury. She'll see the doctor in the morning. We hope it's not broken. Britt also led the team with 5 steals and took an incredible charge at a pivotal point in the game to change the momentum in our favor. Emily also led the team with 2 blocked shots. As a team, this was our best defensive game of the year. Rosehill had a lot of talent and we contained them enough to win.
      As a team, we shot 18 for 51 (35%) from the floor, 1 for 5 (20%) from behind the arc and 5 for 17 (29%) from the line (our lowest percentage of the year).
