Coming off a tough loss in our first game, the girls wanted to make amends against The Woodlands Christian. We came out strong in the 1st period outscoring our opponents 13 - 5. We switched into a man defense in the 2nd period and our adjustments prevailed as we took a 29 - 5 lead into half. The second half was slower paced and more controlled by both teams. The final score was in favor of Northland 38 - 10.
Bailee led the team with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Robyn led with 3 assists and she tied Allison with 2 blocked shots a piece. We reduced our turnovers this game from 42 to 18. As a team, we shot 13 for 45 (29%) from the floor, 1 for 1 (100%) from behind the arc and 9 for 13 (69%) from the line. This was a much improved performance from the first game.
We face the undefeated Panthers of St. Pius in our first game of the University of St. Thomas tournament on Thursday. |
