The boys dominated, pure and simple. The opponent was defeated by FIFTY points! I truly believe our players regularly demonstrate fundamentals on the same level as a varsity team, if not better. Stressing fundamentals is highly intentional and deliberate in how I coach them. They understand what is expected of them and how to play together. I know the team we played was far less talented, but our team still won by playing smart basketball. I am so proud of them and appreciate their willingness to learn and listen to the coaching advice I offer. The entire team played, and played well, and even though the score was terribly lopsided, our boys showed grace and class in how they played.
The stats were certainly plentiful, which will be no surprise considering how many points we scored. Even more amazing is we achieved our season-high in points while playing with a running clock in the fourth quarter. John Horsey led all scorers with 21 points, while going 9-11 from the strike. Keaton Hart boldly claimed 16 rebounds and poured in 15 points for a healthy double-double. Robbie Dillard contributed 6 steals, and most impressive of all, Michael Pender had 10 assists, which is the highest amount for any player on our team all season. Worthy effort, boys!
