That’s what I’m talking about! Our bench played enough to need a break. They were just as sweaty as the starters! Our boys put on a show for the home crowd. This was our first home game of the season and we definitely protected our turf! There’s nothing like Mr. Lemm doing his thing and having the opportunity to emerge from the locker room to the energetic and athletic music of TobyMac. We even had cheerleaders! Yeah cheerleaders! I can think of no better way to enter finals week and Christmas break than with a mark in the victory column. Great job, boys!
The stats were plentiful. We were one player away from everyone scoring. Amazing! John Horsey dominated with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals. Michael Pender poured in 14 points, 6 steals, and 5 assists. Keaton Hart added 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Will Sheffield came off the bench with 6 rebounds and Robbie “Lefty” Dillard made a sweet bank shot and rudely took the ball from the opponent 3 times of his own. I was so proud of the unselfish play! Mason Bent’s normal sweet stroke went AWOL, but his unselfish play was evident as he passed on numerous open shots to make the extra pass. Mason made God look good by his unselfishness and in the process fulfilled our team purpose. Giddyup Mason!
Our record is now 5-3 and we will take a true break until next year when the season will resume with a game on Thursday, January 10, at home versus Holy Trinity Episcopal. See you there!
