Sweet! We now have a winning streak with another convincing victory. St. Francis had an impressive facility, but the THE SWARM full-court press was even more impressive when, at the beginning of the second half, it produced double digits in only a couple of minutes. This press allows our speedy guards to shine! I wish we could have continued swarming, but again, our purpose is to make God look good in how we play the game of basketball. We removed the press and the bench played hard enough and long enough that moms were definitely washing stinky uniforms.
As far as high scorer goes, Justin “JJ” Jackson scored an incredible 26 points, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds in only eighteen minutes of play! Justin did not play the entire fourth quarter. Michael Pender again took care of the ball dribbling through opponents like they were not even there. As coach I'm so confident when the ball is in Michael's possession. Carter Odenweller, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, gobbled up 5 rebounds off the bench.
These boys are learning their roles and playing as a team. Each player is taking pride in the role he plays and the significance of his unique contribution towards a victory. |
