We did it! We finished the season with an unfinished winning streak of 13 games! These boys completed the schedule with another victory over a fairly talented team, Abiding Word Lutheran. Our bench, on one memorable offensive series, passed the ball over ten times with the ball only touching the floor on a couple of occasions. This impressive sequence of passing ended with A.J. Ortenstone giving a head fake, followed by a strong left-handed drive and left-handed lay-up. Unbelievable! These boys consistently shared the ball and played with an unselfish spirit. Coaches and refs complimented me not only on their obvious level of talent, but also on their teamwork and Christ-like attitudes.
      Justin “Silky Smooth” Jackson again led the way with 20 points. This young man does NOT “hog” the ball, but he merely hits most of his shots, which are smart shots with an open look, or a clear lane to the basket. Justin also added 5 assists and 4 steals. Keaton Hart dished 7 assists of his own and again led in rebounding with 7 boards. Mr. A.J. Ortenstone added 10 points and 6 bounds.
     Please personally congratulate these boys on making Cougar Country look good. NCS should be proud of their level of excellence and humble team spirit. I will always treasure the opportunity given to me to coach this group of young men.
