As we traveled to Lutheran South, we were hoping to stay undefeated in district play. The Lady Pioneers came out strong outscoring us in the 1 st period 8-4. Our shots wouldn't fall as we only made 2 out of 13 in the 1st. Although the shooting percentage in the 2nd period wasn't much better as we only hit 4 out of 16 shots, we kept our heads up and managed to outscore Lutheran South 15-8. We made 7 out of 9 free throws in the 2nd period to give us the lead. Our defense came out strong in the 2 nd lead by Karen Karasevich and Kate Terry. We began the 2nd half outscoring the Pioneers 11-1. We won by the final score of 35-23. Lindsey led the team in rebounds with 11, Brittany led with 3 assists, Kate and Karen tied with 5 steals a piece, Lindsey led with 4 blocks and Brittany took another charge. Brittany led the team with 11 points followed by Kate with 10. We had a big scare in the game when Lindsey dislocated her shoulder again. We've been fortunate up to this point to keep it in as long as we have. It's the 2nd time this season it has came out. Knowing Lindsey, she'll be ready to go again next week.
As a team, we shot 13 for 50 (26%) from the floor and 9 for 13 (69%) from the line. This game brings our record to 14-7 and more importantly 2-0 in district.
